Corrections and legal notices
Every story on this site is written to be accurate, dated and documented. If something in a story is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
Corrections
Write to contact@consumerstory.org. Name the story, quote the sentence you dispute, say what is wrong with it, and attach the document that shows the correct fact if you have one.
We acknowledge every notice within two business days. Within ten business days we either correct the story or explain in writing why we have not. Corrections are made in place, and a dated note at the foot of the story says what changed.
Right of reply
A company named in a story may reply at any time, before or after publication. The reply is published verbatim and in full at the foot of the story within one business day of receipt. We do not edit, shorten or annotate it; the only change is that names and other identifiers of individuals are replaced with a marker. A reply that arrives before publication is published with the story.
Legal notices
A notice under Florida Statute 770.01, which asks for written notice of the specific statements said to be false and defamatory before a suit is brought against a publication, is the notice we respond to. Send it to the publisher at the address below and to contact@consumerstory.org; it is handled as a correction request on the timeline above.
Florida Statute 768.295, the state's anti-SLAPP law, applies to this publication.
